Classrooms

Each of our classrooms is set up to successfully support each individual child within their developmental age group. The lesson plans and curriculum are tailored to meet children’s needs in a hands-on play-based approach to learning. Our schedules are set up to allow children time for group focused activities, large group, small groups, individual "free play” time, outside time twice a day, as well as meals and a built-in resting period.

Our staff is trained for the age group they are working with and is given the tools to support the developmental level of learning present in that classroom. Our schedules are made to support the appropriate time tailored to expected attention spans and interest levels.

Infants (6 weeks – 18 months)

Our Infant program is set up to support 10 infants at a wide range of developmental milestones. We work to provide a loving, nurturing, and comfortable environment for infants to build the foundational skills they will need to be successful. Our staff will provide individualized care that is adjusted to match what parents provide in their home environment to maintain consistency between home and school. Our approaches will broaden their scope of understanding through interactive play, sing-a-longs, books, nursery rhymes, tactile experiences, opportunities for art, and infant sign language. Once a child is 12 months old AND can independently walk, they will be eligible to move into our Toddler Program.

Toddlers (12 months and independently walking – 3 years)

Children who are 12 months and independently walking may move into this room of 10 children and 2 staff members. The Toddlers program is a continuation of the foundational skills each child learned within the Infant program. The curriculum in this room will focus on a variety of broad scope topics approached simply and to expose children to novel ideas and concepts. Our children learn to recognize and work to regulate emotions, increase their ability to complete tasks independently, and to move through their day collectively.

Preschool (2.5 years – 6 years)

The progression into the Preschool classroom occurs when a child is 2.5 years of age (at the youngest) and is capable of following direction, can display their independence in completing tasks, and is ready to continue their progression over time to a higher thinking level. Children in this classroom cover a wide breadth of ages and developmental milestones, the teachers will be altering their curriculum guidance to individualize each child’s strengths and areas of opportunity. 2 staff members will conduct group activities with all 20 children and will provide time to split children into smaller groups to support their variation of needs. Preschool includes educational activities for those just entering the classroom all the way through to those moving up to kindergarten. Children will gain the ability to communicate more effectively; provide their own input and thought into activities while guiding the lesson plans to their interests; and engage with their peers through supported social-emotional; blossom as individuals coming into their own personalities. We work to prepare them for kindergarten while also celebrating who they are right now!
